The End is Near

19 03 2008

I have 12 days left to my Sabbatical leave.  It has been a wonderful journey of rest, blessing and refreshment.  What a gift from the Lord!  And now the end is near.

Reading a couple of novels by Joel Rosenberg called The Last Jihad and The Ezekiel Option have heightened my sense of our chaotic world and end time prophecies.  I am thankful for God’s sovereignty and that He is truly in control and will fulfill His plan for our world and mankind.  This also has caused me to evaluate my life and what I may leave behind some day.

What kind of legacy will we leave behind?  I am hopeful that my children will continue to put there trust in God and live for Him.  The heritage of our faith in Christ is the most valuable thing I can leave behind for them and others who have known me.  Living daily with the desire to glorify the Lord and by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit is my goal.

Resurrection Sunday is just around the corner and it gives me hope.  The hope of victory over sin, death, and the devil was purchased by the precious blood of Jesus. The hope of eternal life with Him and his followers is something in which to rejoice and give praise.  The end is near, one day closer on our journey in being united with Christ for eternity.
